The Walk

THE WALK

The Walk was created as part of the performance Echoe Echoe, which I developed with seven children and young people from Young Arts Neukoelln and two young adults. 

The Walk was first performed as a single event. After a preparatory workshop indoors, we went out onto the street and they took over the public space. 

The Walk is a peaceful performative stroll. The participants engage with everything they encounter along the way. They pick up on details and act them out.  Interactacting non-verbally. they playfully mark the route with gestures, postures and group arrangements that arise spontaneously. The route led from Young Arts Neukölln on Donaustrasse to the Kunstbrücke am Wildenbruch. 

It was a great pleasure to work with this group, to be surprised by their ideas and to share in the fun they had!!!
